Cuvée is a champagne, wine, cocktail and tapas bar in Glasgow’s West End, built around a single, focused proposition — curated bubbles. Our scope was the brand language and the menu artwork; the interior and architecture were handled by others. We built the typographic and visual system that runs from the lantern shopfront through to every page of the wine list.

The brief was specialist not generalist. Operators who run a tight bottle programme can’t afford a room whose brand asks customers to read three menus. Identity, exterior signage and menu were designed to point at the same thing: a small list of properly-chosen sparkling wines, served slow, in a venue that rewards staying for the second glass.

The shopfront mark is a single illuminated brass-and-glass lantern reading “Cuvée — curated bubbles” — visible from the end of Lynedoch Street, unmistakeable, no sandwich board or window vinyl needed. Menu typography keeps the wine list readable at the second glass. One of multiple Cuvée sites — sister venue at Princes Square, Glasgow.
